DIY Potato Cannons was an idea that two high school best friends had after getting fed up with the lack of fun AND educational science projects available online.

After doing a little research, we realized how fun and easy it is to build a potato launcher. The problem we ran into was that most of the website with information on potato launchers wer a bit outdated, and their designs were pretty boring.

So, we collected tons of information on potato cannons and begin to develop a best in breed launcher. We wanted our cannon to be simple to build, safe to use, and tons of fun... we also wanted it to look cool as well!

As you'll see from our site, our potato cannon is similar to other designs, but improved. In our opinion, our potato cannon is not only more attractive than everything else on the market, but its also takes advantage of modern technology using things like a push-button ignition instead of "old school" twisting flints..

The funny thing is that neither of us ever thought selling potato cannons, kits and plans was a real business. All we wanted was a cool potato cannon to play with in the woods by our house. It was our friends and neighbors that convinced us to try to share this design on the Internet. They all loved it so much, that we decided to give it a "shot"!
